Commissioner Sally Heyman donates bicycles to local children

During summer break Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman, District 4, collected abandoned bicycles from Winston Towers Condominium, Building 700.  Commissioner Heyman partnered with Bell's Bicycles in North Miami Beach to refurbish the 40 donated bicycles to be given to local children.

On Sunday, August 19, children selected by Pastor Marta Burke from Fulford United Methodist Church were given the bicycles.  On that same day Commissioner Heyman also gave each of the children a back-to-school sackpack filled with essential school supplies.

"I'm grateful to the residents of Winston Towers 700 for recycling these bikes which will go to children; some who have never had a bike," said Commissioner Heyman. "Working together with the condo association and Bell's Bicycles has resulted in a great thing for children."
