Welcome to District 5
As Miami-Dade County Commissioner of District 5, I would like to welcome you to our website.
I have established this website to expand the access to my office for constituents in District 5. Hopefully, dealing with County government can be simplified by offering a better and more efficient way of communicating.
In an attempt to continuously develop and improve this site, new features have been created recently with more planned for the near future. These additions were created to provide you with more information about the district, my office, and enhance your ability to communicate with us. Your opinions are very important to me and I encourage you to contact me your comments and feedback.

Folkloric dance festival to benefit breast cancer patients
Commissioner Barreiro invited residents to support breast cancer patients to enjoy some amazing entertainment at the “Discovering Life Force” folkloric dance festival on Thursday, April 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Koubek Center, 2705 SW 3rd St., Miami, FL 33135. Proceeds supported breast cancer rehabilitation.
Golden & Patriot Passport Location
Register in person at the following location and receive your Golden Passport EASY Card or Patriot Passport EASY Card immediately. Golden/Patriot Passport users also may obtain passport replacements and parking permits at the Government Center Metrorail station location only.
Domestic Partnership registration available at Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department
Commissioner Barreiro is reminding residents that registration for domestic partnerships may be done with assistance from the department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER). For more information on how to register, please visit RER's website.
Surf conditions will be your most challenging safety issue on the beach. What looks like soft mounds of water, gently rolling toward the shore can actually be way more than you can handle once you get out there.
