Mayor Gimenez and Commissioner Higgins to Host Unveiling of River Parc Master Plan and Groundbreaking for the Gallery at River Parc

MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and Commissioner Eileen Higgins, together with the Department of Public Housing and Community Development and our development partner, Related Urban Development Group, will present the unveiling of the River Parc Master Plan (Senior Campus Redevelopment) and will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Gallery at River Parc, a 150 unit affordable and workforce housing development. Joining them on this occasion is special guest, Ms. Denise Cleveland-Leggett, Region IV Administrator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The River Parc Master Plan (Senior Campus Redevelopment) is a 22-acre property currently consisting of three public housing developments – Robert King High, Haley Sofge and Martin Fine Villas, with a total of 800 units. Under the new Master Plan an additional 1,800 of much needed affordable and workforce housing units will be added, bringing the total housing count to 2,600.

The redevelopment will be carried out in multiple overlapping phases to avoid displacement of the residents during construction.

“The transformation of the Senior Campus into the modern River Parc where the number of units will triple, is the next step in revitalizing affordable housing in Little Havana and District 5,” said Commissioner Higgins. “By bringing dynamic, mixed-income buildings into the neighborhood, we’re creating a resilient community where everyone, no matter their age or income, can enjoy the highest quality of life they deserve.”
