Beach Safety
Surf conditions will be your most challenging safety issue on the beach. What looks like soft mounds of water, gently rolling toward the shore can actually be way more than you can handle once you get out there. It is crucial that you know your own swimming abilities and the abilities of your companions, especially if they are children.
Golden & Patriot Passport Location
Register in person at the following location and receive your Golden Passport EASY Card or Patriot Passport EASY Card immediately. Golden/Patriot Passport users also may obtain passport replacements and parking permits at the Government Center Metrorail station location only.

As Miami-Dade County Commissioner of District 5, I would like to welcome you to our website.
I have established this website to expand the access to my office for constituents in District 5. Hopefully, dealing with County government can be simplified by offering a better and more efficient way of communicating.
In an attempt to continuously develop and improve this site, new features have been created recently with more planned for the near future. These additions were created to provide you with more information about the district, my office, and enhance your ability to communicate with us. Your opinions are very important to me and I encourage you to contact me your comments and feedback.

District 5 Mom & Pop Grant Program
Applications are no longer available.
There will be an information/workshop meeting explaining the application and requirements held on March 4, 2013, 6 p.m. at the Robert King High Board Room at 1407 NW 7 Street.
Completed applications will be accepted from March 5 – 8, 2013 by 5 p.m. Hand deliver application to the District Office.
Commissioner Barreiro returns parking spaces to residents near Marlins Park
In an effort to alleviate parking concerns for residents living on NW 3rd Street between NW 14th Avenue and NW 16th Avenue near the newly-constructed Marlins Park, Commissioner Barreiro presented a resolution to restripe the street strictly for residential parking. The item was passed unanimously at the April 3rd Miami-Dade Commission meeting.
Domestic Partnership registration available at Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department
Commissioner Barreiro is reminding residents that registration for domestic partnerships may be done with assistance from the Consumer Services Department. For more information on how to register, please visit CSD's website.
