Commissioner Rebeca Sosa to take part of street co-designation in honor of Banah International Group Inc.

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa will join Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, City of Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez and the Hialeah City Council during a street naming ceremony in honor of Banah International Group Inc. at the sugar company’s new headquarters in Hialeah at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012. The new street will be named “Banah Sweet Way” and will run along SE 10th Avenue from Hialeah Drive to SE 5th Street.

Banah recently leased in the City of Hialeah a 300,000-square-foot facility for warehouses, production and corporate offices and will be creating a minimum of 300 jobs that will greatly benefit residents and contribute to Hialeah’s economic growth and development. The resolution approving the City of Hialeah street co-designation was sponsored by Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, who also chairs Miami-Dade’s committee for Economic Development and Social Services.
