Proclamation honoring 65th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel - Yom Ha’atzmaut Day
(Miami-Dade County, FL) - Chairwoman Rebeca Sosa and Commissioner Sally A. Heyman will honor the 65th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel during the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at the Stephen P. Clark Center. Consul General of Israel Chaim Shacham and Deputy Consul General Revital Malca will receive a Proclamation celebrating Israel’s Independence Day - Yom Ha’atzmaut - along with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Chair of the Board Brian Bilzin and President & CEO Jacob Solomon.
The public is invited to celebrate Israel’s Independence Day along with representatives of the Jewish community of Miami-Dade County. Rabbi Frederick L. Klein will deliver the invocation followed by the national anthem of Israel recited by students of Beth David Congregation in Miami.
May 14, 1948, the 5th of Iyar 5708 in the Hebrew calendar, marked the Israeli Declaration of Independence celebrated annually with a national holiday, Yom Ha'atzmaut. The 65th anniversary of Yom Ha’atzmaut begins the evening of Monday, April 15, 2013 (5th of Iyar 5773) and ends the evening of Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
