Miami-Dade County, FL – The Miami-Dade County Military Advisory Board invites all residents to attend a special ceremony in honor of all fallen veterans on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st street, in the main lobby at 12:00 PM. Military veterans will be playing Taps to bring awareness in our community over the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces have endured. Of all the military bugle calls, none is so easily recognized or more apt to render emotion than Taps.
“This ceremony is bittersweet for our community but it’s also a privilege for us to honor those courageous heroes, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country,” said Commissioner Diaz, who is the Chairman of the Military Affairs Board and who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
The Office of the Chair, the Office of Community Advocacy and the Military Affairs Board will recognize these fallen heroes with the outmost respect and military oriented ceremony. Please join the American Legion, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ladies Auxiliary, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Cuban American Veterans Association (CAVA) and the Veterans Service Organizations (VSO) for a tribute to our military heroes who have paid the ultimate price to protect our liberty and democracy.
