Community Relations Board to hold a Fair Immigration Summit on Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Miami, FL – The Miami-Dade Community Relations Board in collaboration with American Friends Service Committee; Americans for Immigrant Justice; Florida Immigrant Coalition; Miami-Dade League of Women Voters; Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition; Haitian Women of Miami; Miami Workers’ Center; SEIU Healthcare Florida Local 1991; and WeCount! cordially invites all residents to attend a Fair Immigration Summit on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 1- 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and will take place in the Commission Chambers of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st Street, in Miami.

This event gives residents an opportunity to join elected officials, activists, and other leaders to unite and empower Miami-Dade County’s diverse communities. Hear About the impacts of current policies and practices that affect people in our community.  Share your expertise and opinions about priorities for fair and just immigration reforms that ensure equal treatment and due process for all, create pathways to legalization and citizenship, and protect workers’ rights and safety; reunite families; and promote economic growth and opportunities among others.
