Commissioner Rebeca Sosa offers home beautification program in District 6

(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa is offering residents in her district the opportunity to receive funding toward the beautification of their homes. Eligible property owners of single-family homes may receive up to $5,900 in the form of a forgivable loan for exterior painting and/or landscaping. The program is available to residents of the cities of West Miami, Miami Springs and all unincorporated areas of District 6 on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Prospective applicants must meet income and assessed property value eligibility requirements and have property taxes current and in paid status. The forgivable loan only needs to be repaid if the owner or owners sell their home within five years of participating in the program. However, if the owner keeps the property for that time, no repayment will be required.

“This program helps those most in need to improve their homes and quality of life,” Commissioner Sosa said. “By beautifying their homes, these residents also are helping to better the overall aesthetics of the community.”

Applications will be available for pickup at Commissioner Sosa’s District Office, located at 1000 SW 57th Avenue, Suite 201, Miami, FL 33144. For more information regarding the Beautification Program, please call the Office of Commissioner Sosa at 305-267-6377.
