Commission approves resolution sponsored by Commissioner Sosa to create a report card for CBOs receiving County funding

(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – The Miami-Dade County Commission today approved a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Rebeca Sosa to create a “report card” for all Community Based Organizations (CBOs) receiving or applying for County funds to help the Commission make decisions on funding.

The County provides funding to a number of CBOs to deliver a variety of services to the community.

“At the end of the day, we are talking about taxpayers’ money, and we have an obligation to show that our limited resources are being invested wisely,” Commissioner Sosa said. “This will help ensure that those CBOs that are doing a great job of delivering life-saving services will continue to have County funding available to them.”

The report card will track each CBO’s status and progress, including successes and accomplishments or failures and complaints. The report card will be prepared by the Mayor’s administration for presentation to the Commission for approval before it can be used to determine funding decisions.
