Commissioner Sosa's Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program is back for 2016
(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – Now entering its eleventh year, Commissioner Rebeca Sosa’s Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program is once again poised to assist small businesses throughout District 6. Small business owners who are interested in applying for the grant may receive information on the qualifications and application procedures at one of the following mandatory workshops hosted by Commissioner Sosa:
- Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. West Miami Recreational Center, 1700 SW 62 Avenue, Miami, FL 33144
- Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Miami Springs Recreational Center, 1401 Westward Drive, 2nd Floor, Miami Springs, FL 33166
Applicants may be eligible to receive between $1,000 and $2,500 to help their business grow and become more successful. Applications will be available for download beginning January 22, 2016 until January 31, 2016 at www.miamidade.gov/district06. Completed original applications must be hand-delivered to the District 6 office located at 1000 SW 57 Avenue, Suite 201, West Miami, FL 33144 between Friday, January 29th, 2016 and Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. after attending one of the mandatory workshops.
The Mom & Pop Small Business Grant is administered by the Miami-Dade County Office of Community Economic Development and Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA). Since 1997, the grant has helped stimulate a partnership between the public and private sectors as well as build financially stable communities in urban areas. Each year, qualified small businesses benefit immensely from the grant’s financial and technical assistance.
