Commissioner Sosa advocates for designated parking spots for veterans
County Commissioners unanimously supported legislation sponsored by Commissioner Sosa, aimed at providing designated parking for the U.S. veterans that call Miami-Dade County home.
The resolution calls for the administration to produce a report as to the feasibility of implementing the parking program at properties owned and operated by Miami-Dade County. The program would create parking spaces conveniently placed near entry points at all facilities open to the public. Additionally, the report will include approaches for encouraging municipalities and the private sector to extend similar parking privileges for veterans and methods for enforcement.
“We are so proud of our veterans; they are all heroes who have served our country and defended our freedom,” said Commissioner Sosa. “As a society we must continue to find ways to demonstrate our appreciation. Providing them with parking is just one small step towards showing them our support and admiration.”
