Passing of Mr. Armando Sosa

(Miami-Dade County, Florida) - It is with deep sadness that we lament to communicate that, Mr. Armando Sosa, Commissioner Rebeca Sosa’s beloved husband, passed away this afternoon at their West Miami home surrounded by loved ones.

Commissioner Sosa offered the following statement:

“During this most difficult time of mourning, my children join me in thanking the community for the overwhelming display of support throughout my beloved husband’s illness. Armando’s death leaves us in the painful absence of an exemplary husband; the patriarch who faithfully supported our family during my battle with cancer; and the dedicated father who raised exemplary children, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and encouraging them to achieve their higher education goals. I will eternally carry in my heart the treasured memories of the special moments Armando and I shared over our 40 years of married life. The thoughtful outpouring of prayers from throughout the community and beyond has indeed been a source of comfort as we cope with the great sadness brought upon by his death.”

Mr. Sosa was born to Luis and Julia Maria on April 11, 1938, in Cardenas, Cuba. He arrived to the United States in 1956 and later established himself in Puerto Rico where he met and married his wife, Rebeca Sosa, in 1976. Mr. Sosa is survived by his wife Rebeca and their two children Armando, Jr. and Veronica, his daughter Vivian, his son-in-law Maikel, his daughter-in-law Janice, and his grandson Alexander.
