Commissioner Rebeca Sosa announces the opening of the 2018 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program
(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – Commissioner Sosa’s Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program to assist small businesses throughout District 6 is opening for its thirteenth straight year. Applicants may be eligible to receive between $1,000 and $2,500 to help their business.
Small business owners who are interested in applying for the grant may receive information on the qualifications and application process at one of the following mandatory workshops hosted by Commissioner Sosa:
- Wednesday, January 24th, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
ο Rebeca Sosa Multipurpose Facility 1700 SW 62 Avenue, Miami, FL 33144
- Wednesday, February 7th, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
ο Miami Springs Recreational Center, 1401 Westward Drive, 2nd Floor, Miami Springs, FL 33166
Applications will be available for download from January 24th, 2018 to February 8th, 2018 at www.miamidade.gov/district06.
Completed original applications must be hand-delivered to the District 6 office located at 1000 SW 57 Avenue, Suite 201, West Miami, FL 33144 between Thursday, January 25, and Monday, February 12th, 2018 any time before 4:00 P.M. after attending one of the mandatory workshops.
The Mom & Pop Small Business Grant is administered by the Miami-Dade County Office of Community Economic Development and Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA). Since 1997, the grant has helped stimulate a partnership between the public and private sectors as well as build financially stable communities in urban areas. Each year, qualified small businesses benefit from the grant's financial and technical assistance.
