Commissioner Regalado to Partner with Village of Pinecrest to Launch Peafowl Mitigation Program

MIAMI-DADE – Tuesday, July 18, Commissioner Regalado’s Office, in collaboration with the Village of Pinecrest, will announce the launch of the Pinecrest Peafowl Mitigation Program.

Last year, the Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance allowing municipalities to opt out of Miami-Dade County Code by providing a humane peafowl mitigation plan. One of the first municipalities to present a comprehensive plan was the Village of Pinecrest. Under their proposed plan, The Village of Pinecrest, in collaboration with a veterinarian specializing in avian and exotic species, aims to safely and humanely sterilize peafowl within the village.
