On November 24, 2009, Commissioner Carlos A. Gimenez participated in the Paciencia Park dedication near the South Miami Metrorail Station. The ceremony was the result of an inter-local agreement with the City of South Miami to sod and replant the previously vacant lot adjacent to the station. Arts in Public Places refurbished and reinstalled a sculpture, named "Paciencia." Benches will be installed at a future date.
"Many thanks go to Miami-Dade Transit, the City of South Miami, Consulate of Mexico, Community Image Advisory Board, and Arts in Public Places for beautifying our community for residents and visitors," said Commissioner Gimenez.
