Commissioner Lynda Bell "rolls up" her sleeves in the first monthly "Work Day" at Lots of Lox Deli

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Lynda Bell will be rolling up her sleeves on Thursday, March 31, in her first “Work Day” at The Original Lots of Lox Deli in Palmetto Bay.  In an effort to understand the complex issues that small business owners, their employees and patrons are facing in the current tough economic climate, Commissioner Bell will be partnering with a small business in District 8 once every month and work as a member of their team.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our local and national economies.  They hold the key in leading us out of the difficult economic conditions we are experiencing and into a much-needed recovery. What better way to understand and appreciate the many challenges that our business owners must face on a daily basis than to stand and work alongside them,” said Commissioner Bell.  “It is my intention to make these monthly work days into real learning experiences where I have the opportunity to observe and take back to the County Commission the tools needed to formulate significant legislation designed to help our small businesses get back on their feet.”

If you are a business owner who would like to invite Commissioner Bell for a “Work Day,” or if you would like more information on the program, please contact Commissioner Bell’s office at 305-378-6677.
