Vice Chair Lynda Bell to Celebrate Military Appreciation Day this Saturday
(MIAMI-DADE, FL) – Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chair Lynda Bell will join the City of Homestead in celebrating Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave. in Homestead’s Historic Downtown.
At 4 p.m., Vice Chair Bell will present a proclamation to the Homestead Air Reserve Base Honor Guard to recognize them for their outstanding service to the community, which includes presenting the nation’s colors at many high-profile community events.
The free event will also feature military displays, live music, family fun, food trucks and vendors, as well as $1,000 in raffle prizes. Those wearing their military uniform will get a free raffle ticket. Attendees with military IDs will receive free food vouchers for the event.
“I invite the entire community to enjoy a terrific family outing as we celebrate the U.S. Armed Forces and all our brave servicemen and women who defend our nation’s freedoms every day,” Vice Chair Bell said.
