Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava and Mayor Carlos Gimenez hold ribbon cutting for new Miami-Dade County buses

Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava and Mayor Carlos Gimenez will unveil new articulated buses on November 9th. The buses will be used on the South Miami-Dade Busway and throughout the County.

Commissioner Levine Cava presented a resolution to purchase the new buses in June. Articulated “bending” buses are an important step towards bringing real Bus-Rapid-Transit to the underperforming busway. The Commissioner is currently working on several initiatives to enhance the Busway, including working with municipalities to increase connectivity to the corridor and revisiting the 2007 “SouthLink” study.

“Transportation is one of Miami-Dade's most pressing challenges and the new buses are an important part of the solution. I will continue pushing to bring effective and efficient transit solutions and I am exploring new system upgrades,” said Commissioner Levine Cava.
