Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava Hosts Funders’ Forum for Local Nonprofits

Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava hosts Funders’ Forum for nonprofit organizations that graduated from the District 8 Nonprofit Academy. Commissioner Levine Cava started the Nonprofit Academy in April 2016 to build the capacity of community organizations in South Dade. Thirty-five organizations participated in the six-month program, which consisted of interactive workshops designed to give nonprofits the tools they need to succeed and serve their community. The Funders’ Forum provides a chance for these nonprofits to network with local funders.

“These community organizations are the lifeblood of South Dade and when they are strong, we all thrive,” said Commissioner Levine Cava. “The objective of the Nonprofit Academy is to assist Miami-Dade nonprofits become efficient, effective and competitive in today’s third sector market. Nonprofits help our children, families, communities, environment and economy by providing programs that engage our residents and improve our well-being.”

35 nonprofits that serve South Dade and 10 major funders of the Miami nonprofit sector
Thirfty-five nonprofits will have the opportunity to meet with funders such as Wells Fargo, Peacock Foundation, The Miami Foundation, The Children's Trust and Citi Community Development.
