South Florida Welcomes New Biscayne National Park Superintendent, Celebrates Land Transfer
On November 14, 2016 South Florida National Parks Trust and Miami-Dade Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava will hold a reception to welcome Biscayne National Park’s new superintendent Margaret Goodro and celebrate the gift of 45 acres of coastal wetlands from Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department to Biscayne National Park.
In July, Commissioner Levine Cava sponsored legislation conveying county-owned land north of Black Point Marina to the National Park Service. The nearly 45 acres of land will be used to restore natural water flows to Biscayne Bay as part of the Everglades Restoration Plan.
To schedule interviews with Superintendent Maragaret Goodro, please contact Matt Johnson at (305) 230-11440 x 050.
Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department Director Lestor Sola will be available for interviews at the event.
