Welcome to the District 8 website! I am honored to serve as your representative. District 8 encompasses Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay, Homestead, and unincorporated areas of South Dade including Redland, Falls, Princeton, parts of Naranja, Leisure City and parts of West Kendall.

Statement calling for Metrorail to South Dade and immediate transit solutions in the interim
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava convened a meeting on July 17 with South Dade’s elected leaders and TPO Chairman Esteban Bovo to advocate for immediate transit solutions, and particularly for Metrorail at street level to serve our community in the near future.

County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava sponsored legislation to require cities to provide real-time data for trolleys into the County transit tracker app, making transit trip planning seamless for riders.
Resolution approved to help South Dade avocado growers to combat against laurel wilt disease
The Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution sponsored by County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava, directing the Mayor to restore $150,000 to help save South Dade's avocado industry from the devasting laurel wilt disease.

Commissioner Levine Cava partners with Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade to provide critical home repairs and neighborhood revitalization in South Dade.
Traffic Solutions Action Plan
On Feb. 27, 2018, Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava released a Traffic Solutions Action Plan to help tackle the ever-increasing traffic congestion in the Pinecrest through Palmetto Bay, and Cutler Bay to Palm Glades transportation corridor. The Action Plan is a result of ideas generated at community brainstorming sessions held at the Traffic Solutions Summit on February 3 and subsequent meetings.
Commissioner Levine Cava celebrates three years on the Commission
Commissioner Levine Cava celebrated her third anniversary on the Commission on Nov. 12 by volunteering along with many other District 8 residents to restore a coastal wetland in Cutler Bay and released a report highlighting some key accomplishments during her third year in office.
Hurricane Irma after-report
Commissioner Levine Cava has released a report outlining the most common issues that South Dade residents encountered before, during and after Hurricane Irma, and including a number of recommendations to improve the County’s future disaster response.
A Fair Share for South Dade
Commissioner Levine Cava partnered with Commissioner Moss to host the inaugural South Dade Solutions Summit: business, community and government leaders outlined a success plan for South Dade to improve transportation, economic development and quality of life. Recommendations include the County buying local food and products, promotion of "farm to table" dining, transit investments and greater marketing of our region's unique assets. The plan will be our guiding document framing District 8's agenda over the next three years.
