The Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution allowing county employees to donate accrued annual leave to the victims of the Orlando terrorist attack. On October 5, 2016 a special recognition took place sending a check for $13,396.06 to the OneOrlando fund.
A Fair Share for South Dade
Commissioner Levine Cava partnered with Commissioner Moss to host the inaugural South Dade Solutions Summit: business, community and government leaders outlined a success plan for South Dade to improve transportation, economic development and quality of life. Recommendations include the County buying local food and products, promotion of "farm to table" dining, transit investments and greater marketing of our region's unique assets. The plan will be our guiding document framing District 8's agenda over the next three years.
