Commissioner Lynda Bell joins the Staff of Sedanos - Homestead during her Monthly "Work Days"
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Bell "rolled-up" her sleeves once again to join the staff of Sedanos Supermarkets in Homestead, Florida on Tuesday, August 30th, as part of her monthly "Work Days" program. Surrounded by a whirlwind of activity associated with a busy supermarket chain of stores, Commissioner Bell held a number of positions during the day including, cafeteria attendant, kitchen staff, stock and bag girl. "I am delighted to have the opportunity to immerse myself in this very demanding workplace environment. Although it is very hard work, I was impressed with the way that Sedanos emphasizes customer service at every level of their operations. From management to cashiers, every employee is friendly, cooperative and attentive to every customer's needs," said Commissioner Bell. "That is a direct reflection on the high quality of management that governs one of the most successful supermarket chains in South Florida. It was truly an experience that I will never forget."
Commissioner Bell's highly successful Work Days program provides a first-hand appreciation of the everyday pressures and challenges that local business owners, employees and customers face on a day-to-day basis while taking back to the County Commission a true understanding of their needs and concerns for the purposes of formulating future legislation intended to foster vital economic growth, job creation and government efficiency.
Commissioner Bell's Work Days program has been highly acclaimed by a number of governmental organizations and institutions, including the National Association of Counties (NACo) as examples in innovative leadership.
