Commissioner Lynda Bells hosts “Hispanic Art Expressions 2011 – Gallery Night” at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center
Commissioner Lynda Bell and the Miami-Dade County Office of Community Advocacy, Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board hosted "Hispanic Art Expressions 2011 - Gallery Night" in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center on Friday, October 28, 2011.
"Tonight, we celebrate the rich and bold heritage of the diverse Hispanic Culture through Art. In this magnificent Hall, we pay tribute to the talents of local Hispanic artists whose work serves as a reflection of their collective experiences of the human condition in the native lands and in South Florida." - Said Commissioner Bell.
Through the leadership of the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board's Executive Director, Ms. Maria Lazo, Commissioner Bell and the members of the Board were able to bring together the talents of thirty two local Hispanic artists who proudly displayed their works to a raptured audience of local residents, business and government leaders. The attendees also sampled Hispanic Hors d'oeuvres complemented by a selection of wines from Schnebly Redland Winery.
The Hispanic Art Expressions Exhibit, now in its 12th year, is the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board's way of celebrating Hispanic Culture and its contributions to South Florida over the past 25 years. Since the Exhibits creation, the Board has had over 100 participating artists in their annual displays.
