Commissioner Lynda Bell Appointed Co-Chair of the Florida Association of Counties' Growth, Environmental Planning, and Agriculture Policy Committee

Commissioner Lynda Bell was appointed Co-Chair of the Florida Association of Counties' Growth, Environmental Planning, and Agriculture Policy Committee by Association President and Martin County Commissioner, The Hon. Dough Smith.  As a member of the 2011-2012 policy leadership, Commissioner Bell will preside over committee meetings and hearings, as well as make recommendations, along with her colleagues, regarding State of Florida growth management, environmental planning, and agriculture policies.  Moreover, Commissioner Bell just presided over her first committee meeting which, today, is deciding its legislative and policy priorities for the upcoming legislative session.

"I am truly honored to have been entrusted with this great responsibility by Association President Smith.  As Co-Chair of this critical deliberative body, I pledge to uphold and strengthen the Florida Association of Counties' mission of helping Florida counties effectively serve and represent all Floridians by strengthening and preserving county home rule through advocacy, education and collaboration." - said Commissioner Bell.

The Florida Association of Counties is the only association representing Florida's counties - bringing together the collective experience and knowledge of 377 county commissioners and supported by thousands of county professional staff.  For over 80 years, the FAC has provided the cohesive platform that enables county officials and staff to speak with a unified voice on behalf of all Floridians.  Through FAC, counties are better able to serve not only their communities, but the entire state of Florida.
