Commissioner Lynda Bell and the constituents of the Coconut Palms community partner to beautify their neighborhood

Commissioner Lynda Bell, along with a number of volunteers from the Miami-Dade County Police Explorers, the Girl Scouts, as well as over 30 committed area families, took action to beautify their Coconut Palms Community in southern Miami-Dade County (SW 248th Street and 123rd Place) on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Commissioner Bell’s office donated all the paint and necessary equipment to help erase the large amount of graffiti that had been accumulating in the neighborhood for the past 20 years.
“It is empowering to help the residents of our many diverse communities in my district take decisive action in order to improve the neighborhoods they live in for the betterment of everyone,” said Commissioner Bell. “These neighborhood activities bring the whole community together. It encourages volunteerism, as well as civic involvement. I look forward to participating in many more of these community events in the future.”
