Statement by Commission Vice Chair and Miami-Dade Sports Commission Chair, Lynda Bell, on the departure of Mike Dee as CEO of the Miami Dolphins

“I am saddened to learn of Mike Dee’s departure as Chief Executive Officer of the Miami Dolphins; particularly after the many significant contributions he has made to advance the Dolphins franchise and the entire South Florida sports community.”  Said Vice Chair Bell.

“Mike brought the community closer together by bringing more player and fan activities south of the County line, enriching the lives of all South Floridians.  He diligently worked to integrate the Dolphins into the fabric of our diverse community by developing the Dolphins Challenge which raises $4 million annually for the University of Miami’s Sylvester Cancer Center; the introduction of “Wrestlemania” and world class soccer to Miami, among other things.”   Added Vice Chair Bell.  “Although South Florida will miss Mike, I am glad to have this opportunity to wish him and his family only the very best in their future endeavors.”
