Vice Chair Lynda Bell Congratulates the Miami Dolphins on being honored by the White House on their 1972 "Perfect Season"
(Miami-Dade County, FL) – “As Vice Chair of the Board of County Commissioners and Chair of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission, it gives me great pride to congratulate all the members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins Football Team on being officially honored by President Barack Obama for their historic and legendary ‘perfect season’ of 1972,” said Vice Chair Bell.
“The Miami Dolphins have always been one of the best professional football franchises in the NFL, and over the years, they have won many championships, making us very proud. However, not in the history of professional football has any other team reached the historic goal of winning every single game of the season than the 1972 Miami Dolphins. This unparalleled victory was the result of excellent athletes and their devotion to the sport, but particularly, of the legendary Don Shula for his leadership in molding those young men into sports heroes. It is most gratifying to learn that after forty one years since that last touchdown, the President of the United States will officially recognize their long-overdue achievement at The White House,” added Mrs. Bell.
