Vice Chair Lynda Bell salutes the South Dade Senior High School “Buccaneers” football team on winning their first-ever State Championship!

Miami, FL Commission Vice Chair Lynda Bell and hundreds of south Miami-Dade residents came out on Saturday to celebrate South Dade Senior High School’s Football team, the “Buccaneers,” on their first State Championship in 60 years! The City of Homestead, local and community leaders as well as local organizations participated in a celebratory parade down Krome Avenue and later at a pep rally organized at Harris Field.

“As County Commissioner for District 8, Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission, it was with a great a deal of pride that I presented the South Dade Senior High School and their renowned “Buccaneers” High School Football Team with a County Commission Proclamation commemorating the Team’s first State Championship in 60 years!," said Vice Chair Lynda Bell. "In addition, I was delighted to present the school with a $3,000 check to help pay for the player’s championship rings. GO BUCS! NOW and FOREVER!!!”
