Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava's statement on President Obama’s Paris climate change speech
Palmetto Bay, Fla. – Today, County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava offered the following comments as President Obama once again highlights Miami-Dade as the focal point for our nation's need to tackle climate change:
"Our community continues to receive national and international attention as the center point for climate change and the need for real solutions. As we get ready to embark today on the 7th annual Southeast Florida Climate Leadership Summit, I remain more committed than ever to work with my colleagues like Commissioner Sosa to ensure that Miami-Dade puts the resources together to combat this issue. We will soon turn the page on a new year and we need to be smart and proactive and draw down resources from our federal and state partners so we can plan for sea level rise, take on flooding and the threats from climate change."
