Miami-Dade County Expands Transparency, Makes Zoning Documents Available Electronically
Today the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution to distribute zoning hearing agendas and recommendation kits electronically and create an email subscription service for the public to receive them. Such a service is already available for other Board meetings.
“This is a common sense measure to improve the public’s access to government,” said Commissioner Levine Cava, the measure’s sponsor. “The more transparent we are, the better the community is able to participate, and the better decisions we will make.”
Commissioner Levine Cava has sponsored other pieces of transparency legislation, such as procedures for disclosing solicitations to political committees.
