Miami-Dade County to Provide Assistance to Water Customers in Need

MIAMI-DADE - Yesterday, November 1 the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved legislation creating a program that will provide Water and Sewer customers the opportunity to voluntarily contribute to a fund for assisting customers with financial need. The voluntary contribution program will benefit low-income Miami-Dade residents facing termination of water service due to economic hardship.

“Clean and safe drinking water is a necessity for all of us,” said Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava, the legislation’s sponsor. “This program will give an opportunity for Water & Sewer customers to directly help keep the water on for people in dire straits.”

The voluntary contribution program will be operated by Community Action Agency.
