Commissioner Dennis C. Moss will be congratulating the student winners of Miami-Dade's 7th Annual "Clean Up and Green Up Poster Contest" on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 9 a.m. in Miami-Dade Commission Chambers. The contest, sponsored by the Community Image Advisory Board (CIAB), encourages students to be creative in the use of our slogan "Clean Up and Green Up," using their original art to encourage civic pride by illustrating the importance of keeping our community litter-free.
For the past 7 years, CIAB has invited students to enter the poster contest for a chance at winning great prizes. The poster contest was open to elementary, middle, and high school students attending any school in Miami-Dade County. The 1,800 entries received this year made it very difficult to choose only three winners in each category. Nine winners were selected. The winning entries were on display at Miami-Dade Fair and Expo Center, Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami.
This year all first-place winners will receive a Best Buy Gift Card, all second-place winners will receive a Dave & Buster's Gift Card and all third-place winners will receive an AMC Movies Gift Card.
The winning students are listed below:
