Commissioner McGhee to host book bag giveaway

MIAMI-DADE – As the start of the school year approaches, Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee is making sure students have their necessary school supplies. McGhee is hosting a book bag giveaway from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Richmond Heights Park at 14450 Boggs Drive in Miami. The event will offer school supplies and uniforms (while supplies last) as well as haircuts and free dental checks. The fun-filled giveaway will also feature music, a game truck, bounce houses and free food. Routine child immunizations will be offered, in addition to COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 12 and up.
