Commissioner McGhee to offer free mammography vouchers

MIAMI-DADE – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, mammography vouchers will be provided to women from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Eureka Park, located at 18320 SW 119th Ave.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee and Masiel Moreira, CEO of Community Health and Wellness Center of Miami, who have partnered to help women get free mammograms. Vouchers will cover the service cost, which is often a barrier that prevents many women from receiving the critical screening they need for early detection.

Vouchers are good for a year at IDACA Imaging and Radiology Center in Hialeah. Physicians will be on site to write prescriptions, which are required to receive a mammogram. No ID is required.
