Miami-Dade residents have a permanent home for the "Miami Marlins"

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade County Chairman Dennis C. Moss announces the county's new "Miami Marlins" stadium.  The special meeting to determine the team's fate started at 1:00 p.m. with a presentation, followed by a public discussion.  At 10:23 p.m. the Board of County Commission approved the agreement on a 9-4 vote in favor of the stadium.  The most important vote on Florida Marlins history took place tonight, March 23rd at the Commission Chambers of the Stephen P. Clark building.

"I was recently in Washington, DC and had the opportunity to visit "National Stadium"; I know we can bring progress to our county with a world class stadium like theirs," said Chairman Moss.  "In the long run people are going to be proud of the decision made here tonight."
