Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss kicks off 2012 Annual Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program in District 9
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss is pleased once again to announce grant opportunities for qualified small businesses throughout District 9 to apply for financial assistance provided by the Miami-Dade County Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Small businesses who have not received grant awards in prior years are eligible to receive and complete the grant applications. Applications can be obtained from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning January 23, 2012 through February 7, 2012 at either of Commissioner Moss’ offices. District North Office is located in the South Dade Government Center at 10710 SW 211 Street, Suite 206 in Cutler Bay and the District South Office located at 1634 NW 6th Avenue in Florida City.
Businesses applying for the Mom and Pop grants must be located in District 9, provide proof of having been in business for at least one (1) year, confirm that the business name on the application matches the one on the business license and meet all other eligibility requirements. Grants will be awarded up to $5,000. These funds can be used to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security and minor improvements/ renovations to the business. The Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program was created to provide financial and technical assistance to qualified small businesses approved for funding.
