(MIAMI, FL) The Office of Commissioner Dennis C. Moss welcomed John Hartman, President and CEO of True Value, one of the world’s largest hardware cooperatives, with over 4,000 locations and nearly $1.9 billion in sales, during the “Chain Cutting” ceremony of South Florida’s newest independent hardware retailer located in District 9.  True Value of Kendall, located at 13720 SW 152nd St. Miami, FL is the first new independent hardware retail store opened by the company in Miami-Dade County.  Owned and Operated by Luis Trabucco, the Kendall location is spearheading the company’s efforts to establish a presence in the dynamically diverse South Florida marketplace.  The corporate slogan for True Value is “Start right. Start here.”

Commissioner Moss is pleased that True Value of Kendall is just the starting point, as executives look to expand with several locations throughout the County in the coming years.  “You tend to shop where you feel welcome, where you get the help you need without too much hassle or delay, and where the prices are competitive,” said Trabucco.  “That is definitely us.”

True Value reports the average store hires between eight and ten associates and generates about $1 million in revenue.  “This is a welcome addition to the local economy and business community here in District 9,” said Commissioner Moss, who also serves as a member of the Finance Committee.  “True Value is creating jobs and promoting a business model that gives local entrepreneurs the opportunity to succeed.”
