Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier D. Souto interacts with more than 600 government officials from Latin America who are participating in the annual 15th Inter-American Conference of Mayors, taking place this week, at the Hilton Hotel at the Omni Center located at 1601 Biscayne Blvd in Downtown Miami.

The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution authored by Commissioner Javier D. Souto urging the U.S. Congress and President Obama’s administration to amend immigration laws and policies to address U.S. children whose parents have been deported.

During a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, County Commissioner Javier D. Souto, stated that the rapidly growing mortgage foreclosure crisis in our community was forcing entire families with young children into homelessness.

The 2009 Miami International Agriculture & Cattle Show at Tropical Park was attended by more than 50,000 people. The three-day event included a variety vendors featuring breeding and genetics technology; equipment and services; cattle supplied from Floridian and regional operations; and agriculture and consumer-related exhibits and demonstrations.
