Commissioner Souto to present $4,050 check to Coral Park High for new mascot costume
(MIAMI, FL) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier Souto, District 10, will present a $4,050 check to Miami Coral Park Senior High to replace its deteriorating mascot costume with a new state-of-the art outfit. The check presentation will take place on Tuesday, April 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the school, located at 8865 SW 16th St., in Miami.
Last December, after reading in the Miami Herald that the school couldn’t afford to replace its 6-year-old papier mache costume for its mascot Ramsy, Commissioner Souto decided to make a donation to the school from his district funds. The donation will allow the school to purchase a costume featuring quality material and a state-of-the-art cooling system to prevent humidity damage and keep its wearer comfortable.
“I’m very pleased to help the wonderful students at Coral Park Senior High continue showing their school spirit by cheering their beloved mascot at games and pep rallies,” Commissioner Souto said.
Miami Coral Park Senior High is located in Commissioner Souto’s district.
