Commissioner Souto to offer District 10 pet owners free spay and neuter services
July 13 for cats; July 19 and August 2 for dogs
(MIAMI, FL) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier Souto, District 10, is allocating $1,000 from his district budget to offer free pet spay and neuter services to pet owners.
Pet spay/neuter surgeries will be provided at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th Street, by appointment only, on Sunday, July 13 for cats only; and on Saturday, July 19 and Saturday, Aug. 2 for dogs only. Pets must be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. and will be ready for pickup at 4 p.m. Animals must weigh less than 50 pounds.
“I’m committed to doing my part to help control the pet population by providing spay and neuter services so we can reach our goal of being a no-kill County,” Commissioner Souto said.
Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for all pets. Cats and Dogs without a current rabies vaccine will be vaccinated at the time of surgery (only animals over 4 months old are eligible for a vaccination). Veterinarians may decline surgery of any pet for health reasons.
