Vice Chairman Rodriguez and Commissioner Steinberg Present the Mobile Holocaust Exhibit

MIAMI-DADE – Vice Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, alongside Commissioner Micky Steinberg, is co-sponsoring the Mobile Holocaust Exhibit, which will be open to visitors on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. outside of Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 111 NW 1st St., Miami, FL 33128. The exhibit will be on the corner of NW 1st Street and NW 2nd Avenue (aka “The Orange Peels”).

The purpose of the Mobile Holocaust Exhibit by ShadowLight is to raise awareness of the Holocaust and combat antisemitism and all forms of hate. The exhibit is a 360-degree, immersive multimedia presentation housed inside an exact replica of a WWII era cattle car, like the ones that were used to transport Jews and other targeted groups to concentration and death camps during the Holocaust. Inside the cattle car, there will be projections allowing visitors to watch Holocaust Survivor testimonies, learn about the deportations, and make connections between history and the present day. There will also be a collection of original historic artifacts that visitors will be able to view inside the Stephen P. Clark Government Center.

There will be press conference at 12:30 p.m., next to the exhibit. The speakers will include Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Chairman Oliver Gilbert, Vice Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, Commissioner Micky Steinberg, and Rabbi Yossi Harlig.

This exhibit is coming just a few days before International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is on Saturday, Jan. 27. This day commemorates the victims of the Holocaust and the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1945.
