(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department (MDPR) has just finished renovating its parking facilities at Blue Lakes Park, 4225 SW 92 Avenue, in Miami.
The improvements, spearheaded by Commissioner Javier D. Souto, include the addition of 13 new parking spaces, providing visitors with a 24-space parking lot, which was completely repaved with pervious concrete pavers and a drainage system. The project was completed with a Safe Neighborhood Parks Bonds Interest Grant and funds from the Quality Neighborhood Improvement Program.
The six-acre neighborhood park also features a shaded playground, a baseball field, tennis and basketball courts, and a picnic shelter that is available for rental.
"Residents are sure to appreciate the additional parking spaces and the much-needed drainage improvement to the parking lot, which will greatly reduce the chance of flooding after it rains," said Senator Javier D. Souto, Miami-Dade County District 10 Commissioner, who led the effort for this project. "I extend my appreciation to our Parks Department for ensuring the County's recreational facilities are always top notch for our residents and visitors to enjoy."
