The PIAG Museum on Wheels is the first mobile museum in the country. It was made possible by a resolution sponsored by Chairman Joe A. Martinez authorizing the donation of a retired transit bus.
The goal of the museum is to bring the arts closer to residents and to provide direct contact between art lovers and art historians, curators, creators, researchers and photographers among others. It was conceived as a tool for social and individual transformation as well as a springboard for enhancing cultural knowledge.
The museum visits schools, universities, art fairs and parks throughout Miami-Dade County. For more information, go to www.piagmuseum.org.
