(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez, District 11, will be hosting his 4th Annual Health and Safety Expo on Saturday, June 28 at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Expo Center’s E. Darwin Fuchs Pavilion, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free and open to all Miami-Dade residents, regardless of age, employment or insurance status. The event offers a wealth of free health services, including shots, screenings and consultations. Some of the agencies providing services are Baptist Health of South Florida, Jackson Health System, Miami-Dade County Health Department, and the Borinquen Health Care Center.
“It is no secret that a large portion of our community is uninsured or poorly insured and that many do not have access to the health services they need,” says Commissioner Martinez. “The Health and Safety Expo is a rare opportunity for get free tests for HIV/AIDS, blood pressure, blood sugar, cardiovascular disease, cholesterol; free immunization shots for children and more.”
