(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- After five years of success with the Creative Visions student art exhibition, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez, District 11, is offering seniors across the county the same opportunity to put their artistic talents on display. The first Creative Golden Visions exhibition will be at the Knight Concert Hall of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, 1300 Biscayne Boulevard, on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.

Commissioner Martinez thinks the exhibit will give participating seniors a beneficial creative outlet. "We sometimes forget that retirement and seniority are not synonymous with inactivity," the Commissioner said. "Most seniors are looking for opportunities to do new and exciting things to show that they still have relevancy and a lot to contribute to our community."
The exhibition will feature artists 55 years and older from the Park & Recreation Seniors Program and Senior Centers throughout the county. The pieces include paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media works under the theme "Celebrating Life". The opening ceremony will feature a performance by a very talented group of local seniors.
Miami-Dade County's Park and Recreation and Cultural Affairs departments, and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County are co-sponsoring the event with Commissioner Martinez.
