Waiting List Opening for Gran Via Apartments for Efficiency and 1-Bedroom Units for Elderly Only

Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) will accept online pre-applications only from seniors with limited income (62 years or older by October 2013) who wish to be placed on its lottery-based waiting list for Gran Via Apartments, located at 12700 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33184, for zero/efficiency and one-bedroom units.

All pre-applications received during this period (June 10-17, 2013) will be considered as applying at the same time. Therefore, it does not matter if an application is received on the first or last day.

All pre-applications will go through a computerized lottery process and will be assigned a randomly selected ranking number. The pre-application, including instructions, income limits, frequently asked questions, will be available on PHCD’s website.

The following locations will be available to assist those with limited access to computers:

  Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Commissioners approve a Charrette and Corridor Study to provide a blueprint for the future aesthetics of the West Kendall Area

The Board of County Commissioners approved a Charrette and West Kendall Corridor Study Area, which focuses on Kendall Drive between SW 137th Avenue and SW 177. This provides an opportunity for land owners, business owners, area residents and local elected officials to work together towards a vision for the future of West Kendall.

Resolution to report the findings on the possibility of a West Dade Government Facility for unincorporated Miami-Dade is approved

Miami-Dade County Commissioners voted on a resolution asking Mayor Carlos Gimenez to study the feasibility of a West Dade Government center for the residents who live in the unincorporated areas of West Miami-Dade.
