Statement from Commissioner Zapata
Miami, FL – It is paramount to set our County on a fiscally sound path of sustainable budgets and get away from politically convenient short term solutions. With the Mayor's memo yesterday, the Administration took a long overdue first step in addressing the budget’s structural issues. As his administration focuses on this task, I hope they look at ways of creating greater efficiencies, removing unnecessary and costly regulation, and curtailing high-pay executive salaries and benefits.
I pledge to work with the administration in a positive and constructive manner to resolve our fiscal issues moving forward in the best interest of Miami-Dade County and its taxpayers.
