Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz to hold public meeting on Jackson Hospital Task Force recommendations

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz is inviting residents to attend a town hall meeting to get public input on Jackson Hospital Governance Task Force recommendations. The Task Force was established to study and report on alternative models for operating the Jackson Health Systems including Jackson Memorial Hospital. The public is invited to share their input on the recommendations, learn more about services offered and hospital operations.

Commissioner Diaz, who serves as Chair of the Public Safety & Healthcare Administration Committee, organized a series of these meetings throughout Miami-Dade in order for residents to be well-informed about the current way their public hospital is managed, and have a forum to make suggestions.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Jorge Mas Canosa Youth Center, 250 SW 114 Avenue, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For additional information, please contact Commissioner Diaz's office at 305-599-1200.
