(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- With Valentine’s Day around the corner, Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz is ensuring residents feel a little appreciation and goodwill beyond February 14. The commissioner has teamed up with several businesses and volunteers in District 12 to bring “14 Days of Neighborly Love – Inspiring Random Acts of Kindness.” This initiative involves businesses and organizations donating their time and services from February 14 to February 27 to residents as a way of showing love for their neighbors and community. Participating businesses may provide special discounts during the 14 days, or randomly give goods and services to clients for free.
Commissioner Diaz will be hosting a press conference on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Finish Line gas station in Sweetwater, 10900 West Flagler Street, at 11 a.m. to kick off the initiative. Finish Line, owned by Anthony Cuevas and supplied by Alex Varas from BV Oil Company, is one of the participants and will be providing discounted prices for a limited time on Monday. In addition, Commissioner Diaz and the municipal mayors in his district will be pumping gas for customers during the discount.
During the press conference, the commissioner will be describing the initiative in more detail and the participating businesses from Doral, Medley, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, Virginia Gardens, and Sweetwater will be present.
